The lab’s mission is to develop, implement and evaluate efficient, safe and clean technologies to provide safe water for society. In this context, the lab work in three main areas of research:
- Appropriate technologies for developing communities
- Environmental applications and implications of nanotechnology
- Advanced treatment for stormwater runoff
Between 2008 and 2013, the RISET lab has received $2 million from federal, state, and non-profit organizations. Our research findings have been implemented by international and state agencies, 11 peer-reviewed publications have been produced, and 48 presentations have been made at international, national, and state conferences. Due to the interdisciplinary nature of our work, the research group has collaborated extensively with faculty and students in other disciplines at URI and with other national and international academic and research institutions. Through these collaborations, several proposals have been funded, supporting the work of several graduate and undergraduate students at RISET.
