Nicole Nigri has always had a passion for science and math. While she is graduating in 2016 with a degree in Mechanical Engineering, both Mechanical and Industrial Systems Engineering have a place in her heart.

During her time at URI, Nicole has worked to broaden her understanding of what real-world engineering experiences will be like. Last summer she had an internship with Textron Systems as a Test Engineering Intern. Her senior capstone project was sponsored by Raytheon. Both allowed her to see what working in industry would look like.

Following graduation, Nicole will be joining Textron Systems full time as an associate quality engineer in their weapons and sensor systems branch. Textron, she notes offers her room to grow, explore her interests and see where she fits best. “I’m trying to learn as much as I can and see where my skills can excel and benefit the company the most,” she says. However, based on her experience thus far, she believes quality engineering may be her calling.
