Salary: Commensurate with experience.

Responsibilities: The Postdoctoral or Visiting Scholar will be a primary contributor to Dr. Besio’s Neurorehab Laboratory in the Department of Electrical, Computer, and Biomedical Engineering at the University of Rhode Island, and collaborate with Drs. Mankodiya and Kennedy. S/he will help develop, integrate, and maintain an advanced electroencephalography and functional near infrared spectroscopy (fNIRS) system including signal processing algorithms. The candidate will use the system to acquire clinical epilepsy data and preform analysis for source localization. This position requires hands-on-experience developing biomedical instrumentation.

Primary areas of interest include: (1) analog circuit design and signal acquisition, (2) experience with fNIRS hardware prototyping, (3) electrode fabrication, (4) integration of sensors and electronics into a wearable garment, (5) wireless data transmutation, and (6) human experiments (in no particular order of preference). The successful Postdoctoral Candidate or Visiting Scholar will join a team of signal processing and hardware design faculty, neurologists, and neuroscientists currently dedicated to this project.

Requires qualifications: minimum of Ph.D., or equivalent degree, in electrical engineering, biomedical engineering, or closely related field; course work or research experience (publications are a plus) in one of the areas of interest.

Applications will be accepted until the position is filled.
