Welcome to the IEEE Computational Intelligence Society (CIS) Workshop on “New Frontiers in Computational Intelligence: From Foundations to Applications,” an exciting IEEE workshop featuring 7 invited talks by the pioneers in the Computational Intelligence field. This workshop will be held on October 3, 2014 on campus at the University of Rhode Island (URI), Kingston, RI.
The workshop is FREE to any one who is interested to attend it, but registration is required for logistics arrangement purpose. Registration Deadline: September 29, 2014.
With the recent development of brain research and modern technologies, computational intelligence (CI) research has demonstrated many successful applications as well as new potentials and capabilities in solving some of the grand challenges in our society, covering all aspects of civilization daily life from security to defense and related applications. This includes, but is not limited to, big data, brain initiative, deep learning, computer games, robotics, cyber-physical systems, biomedical devices, bioinformatics, digital manufacturing and smart grid, to name a few. This IEEE CIS workshop will feature numerous world-renowned pioneers discussing the new frontiers of CI research and development, covering all the key aspects from the foundations including principles and real-world applications. This workshop will also provide a unique platform for you to network with the IEEE CIS community to know more of the latest research, technologies and applications in all fields of CI, and more important, get to know people in the field to join the big IEEE CIS family!
In addition to the exciting technical program, you will also have the opportunity to explore the rich culture and amazing attractions in Rhode Island such as the Newport, as well as the surrounding New England area such as Boston (being just 1.5 hours away from the workshop).
We hope you will join us at this exciting IEEE CIS workshop, and look forward to seeing you on campus at URI on October 3, 2014!
