Poster Guidelines:

  1. Prepare a poster for display on a single 36” tall by 24” wide (portrait layout) foam core poster board.  Your poster should be pre-mounted on the foam core board for a display panel.  Supplies for mounting/display of post board will be provided.
  2. Your task is to create a poster that effectively communicates the goals, objectives, methods and results of your project work (graduate, undergraduate, capstone, etc.).  Remember that your audience will almost certainly not be specialists in your area, and many visitors will be students and faculty from other departments. Be prepared to describe your work in a language that a knowledgeable individual with a science/engineering background can understand.  Keep equations to a minimum, use graphics to their full advantage, ensure text is large enough to read a few feet away from the poster, and fill up all empty space!  Commons sections of successful posters include but are not limited to abstract, objectives, findings, and future work.  It my be advantageous to bring copies of your poster abstract to handout to visitors and/or judges that request a copy.
  3. The poster presentation session is on Friday, April 29th, 2016 from 8:30am – 1:00pm.  You are required to be at your poster to describe your work and answer questions during the entire session.  Your display must be setup at least 15 minutes prior to the session (8:15am) and must remain up until the end of the session (1:00pm).
  4. Student Posters: Competition placement will be based on the combined assessment of at least five judges.  The selection of the winning poster presentations will be based on the clarity, display and content of your poster, responses to the judges’ questions, and completeness of work.
  5. Student Awards: Awards will be announced at the Conference student pizza dinner on Friday, April 29, 2016,  4:30-5:30 PM.  Award winners will be invited to the conference dinner at the Aqua Blue Hotel (6:00-9:00 PM).  Cash prizes and certificates cosponsored by ASEE will be presented at the Conference dinner.
